can an attorney find medical records from doctors that I did not provide the name of?
I have a herniated disc from an accident 8/2008. My atty asked if I have had an MRI prior to the accident. I dont remember if I did or not besides the MRI I had after an accident in 2000, in which I have the report & provided to the atty. I know they are trying to find out if I had a prior injury but I dont recall ever seeing anyone for my back, besides my current chiropractor who I've been treating with since 1999.

- Yep. It's called Discovery and alot of this depends upon why the attorney would be investigating you in the first place and what you're doing in court or being charged with. Many law firms employ private investigators or hold them on retainer or employ retired police officers for "research" purposes. Anything where your social security number was given or your full name and address given or credit cards used or checks written can be traced very easily. If you went to doctors and didn't tell the attorney, the jig is up, my man. If the attorney is representing you, than you are misrepresenting occurrences to that person and may have falsified documents. Not good. If you've been deposed, could be bad. I'd advise you to come clean and just tell the truth and take your lumps like a man before you have to worry about perjury or botching the case...but I don't know what you have going on, either. Good luck!
