Medical Malpractice Attorneys and Lawyers

Can you get a job in Medical/Law-Enforcement/Engineer the 48States w/a criminal Misdemeanor Rec.?

I would like to ask the board this question for a close family member of mine to see where he stands in reality. It was a Charge of Theft as a Misdemeanor. I know that for Medical/Law-Enforcement requires a state license & the obvious background check. #1) My Question is can a criminal record be expunge after success of probation? #2) Is there anyone out there w/criminal records working as: a Peace Officer, Lawyer, Medical Assistant, or Engineer? Please if you know anyone or have experience this matter please shime in? Thanks in Advance Thanks for the response, with all respect. Thats True indeed Apply & find out. What the facts are as mentioned: the two jobs are a "state job" Anyone else has a definite answer pertaining to the question ask?

  1. That depends entirely on the law enforcement or medical agency in question. In Los Angeles law enforcement, you are given every opportunity to tell the truth up front and they decide if you would be a good risk. A background check will reveal all criminal history to include dismissed charges. You will be polygraphed, so tell everything. Withholding any info can result in not only disqualification from the agency you are applying for, but a permanent label as an integrity violator. No one wants to hire a liar. My best advice is to apply and see what happens. The worst they can do is say no.
