Do most pro bono Lawyers do pro bono medical?
I had my car totaled and have a neck injury from it that the insurance company won't pay for. I was not at fault the other driver was. I have a lawyer who wants my case, but it sounds too great. I pay nothing everything is pro bono,(33% later) I pay nothing for mri's etc. and he starts treatment on my neck for free with doctors that want nothing up front only settlement money later. His partner is an award winning lawyer and he seems like a good guy. I am torn. Is this usual in these kind of cases? I need to get a lawyer and need to decide if this is what I want pretty soon. Please help

- Sounds like a personal injury lawsuit factory. You probably will get some money but you have to ask yourself is this is honorable and moral. It is legal though.
- Pro bono is a free lawyer for public service. Your lawyer is NOT free, the charge appears to be 33% of what you later win. If for any reason, he loses your case, you will be responsible for the medical bills. Assuming the other driver WAS at fault AND has insurance, it should be provable. It is your job to be sure you fully understand the terms of your involvement with the lawyer.
- Medical cases are NEVER handled pro bono. They are taken on a commission basis. if I were you I would consult with several attorneys before deciding. This guy sounds like a factory and you will end up getting cheated. Look in the yellow pages and meet with several more. It is free is all cases so you have nothing to lose.
