Medical Malpractice Attorneys and Lawyers

Has anyone spent anytime in a hospital lately? Is it just me or has our Health Care system went to crap?

I have been sent to 4 different hospitals in the past 3 weeks due to complications in my pregnancy that should have been caught by my original OBGYN immediately when I told him my symptoms, instead, because my blood pressure didn't read high he didn't even test me and to make a long story short I ended up having a mild brain annurism due to his incompetency, anyone know any good attorneys for medical malpractice? But, I mean, it wasn't just him, it was every hospital I was in, they all just, wouldn't tell me what was going on, or explain it to me, and just kept transfering me until I ended up in BARNES in St. Louis, ridiculous!!!

  1. no thank GOD! good luck girl!

  3. The extra incomes from raising health insurance costs are being spent on bureaucracy, not patients and facilities. The state & federal health system is being run into the ground by budget cuts and illegal aliens.
  4. Let's not forget the price gouging of the pharmaceutical companies leaving less for the hospitals.
  5. Just maybe all the transfers were a good thing. You never know if the RN staffing was adequate, there are severe shortages for real reasons. Maybe the level of care you needed wasn't available in those places, or your insurance co. was calling the shots. Better yet....just figure, most Rn's are paid about 1/4 -1/2 the hourly rate of a plumber, given little or no licensed support personnel, and take responsibility for your life and your baby's plus 3 to 5 other Moms-To-Be. Required to work 12 hour+ shifts with no overtime compensation, etc. When the MD shows up, who can read the writing contained in his "orders"? Question is why can't a basic protocol for communication be implemented with state-of-the-art technology? Where are the Blackberry's that people use on the bus? Can't one MD text an RN or a radiologist for a prompt response? Educating you about your condition, discussing your plan of care, how it should be implemented and evaluated for progress, any and all of your questions are completely within your rights as a "patient". For each diagnosis there is a standard of care. For every question you have you MUST have an answer. It is well with your rights. Ask to speak with the hospital social worker and express your feelings. They should help you clarify your concerns and help you get the answers you need. If not, there is always a hospital ombudsperson. Unfortunately, you have to be informed and an advocate for yourself and your baby even when you are least able. I hope you have family or friends to support you. God Bless you. You have just past the first test in parenthood.....i'm sure it feels out of control. Just think, soon you will be holding your baby. What else matters?
