How long should it take for a Doctor to look over Medical Records and an Autopsy Report?

My Attorney sent Hospital Medical Records and the Autopsy Report to a Medical Doctor for his Opinion in a Possible Wrongful Death or Malpractice Suit. He sent them about a week ago. How long should I expect the Doctors Review to take?

  1. about 1 to 2 days
  2. How ever long it takes the Doctor to sober up!
  3. This will actually depend, when he got the reports. When he does receive them will he actually look at them then or will he sit them aside and tend to other matters and when he has time then he will look them over. You can never be sure of Doctors. For your sake I hope he reads them right away and gets back to you as soon as possible. But it really depends on the Doctor.Be patient in this, I know easier said then done. But if he does this right and does it throughly, I would say between 7-10 working days, don't count the weekends. I am only trying to be realistic so you won't be to anxious in receiveing the report right away. I know how Doctors work. I have dealt with them most of my life. I hope you get them back soon, but a doctor takes his time and will get to it when he is ready. If I was you I would call my lawyer and ask him to give the doctor a call, this might speed up the process for you. Good luck to you and my sympathy goes out to you for your loss. Take care and God Bless.
  4. That's a rough call. Doctors are generally pretty busy, and look at that stuff when they get a chance. (Unless that is their specialty). Sometimes it can take several weeks, and then they have to keep getting prodded by the lawyer to get their behinds in gear! Hope things work out for you!!
