Can I get one Power of Attorney for my financial matters and medical matters?
or would I need to have 2?

- Yes you can and if I am not mistaken it can be specified on one form. Please get a good attorney. You don't' want your POA coming back to bite you or your kids in the ass later. Make sure it is specific and covers EXACTLY what you want and need... POA is a major thing to give to someone.
- You could. Do you know them?
- Separate items. You would need a POA for financial and a health care directive for medical matters.
- I would guess it would depend upon what state you or are in. I know in my state there are general powers of attorney that give someone the power to act for you on any matter. Please please be careful who you choose to confer these powers on. In my state there is a "springing" power of attorney which "springs back" to you when you are certified by two physicians as being able. Without a springing power, it may be very difficult to get the control you might want back. Please see a reputable estate planning attorney for help with these most important documents.
