How does a person deal with medical malpractice involving the VA hospitals?
It seems that the VA is such a powerful institution that few lawyers have the resources or will to deal with their arrogance. This seems especially the case during times of foreign policy crisis such as now. But, I have a serious need to resolve the prolonged problems that I am having with these people.

- Yabba Dabba Doo!
- with alawyer
- id get a lawyer. most ahve free consultations, could be very helpful
- I think you need to go into the arbitration process and plead your case
- Get the most expensive lawyer that you possibly can. And many government agencies are immune from this anyway, so you will be in a lifetime battle.
- Contact your state representative; all the horror stories you've heard about the VA hospitals in the past are true. The doctors that work their don't want to be there, but they have to work there in order to stay in this country, not the best situation. VA killed my dad. They gave him a shot which knocked him out, & it was 2 hours before a doctor actually saw him, & no one would listen when we told them he had a stroke. He walked in but never walked out! He laid there sort of in a comatose state, trapped inside his body, for 2 months. It took me 2 weeks to get him out of there! They didn't even do range of motion therapy on him, often he would be laying in a wet bed. When we checked him in and asked for a wheel chair, the person behind the desk said: "It's over there!" and just sat on her big a-s-s. Our vets deserve better treatment than this, after all, they have put their life on the line for our country. I propose & recommend to make every single politician to get their treatment at a VA hospital. I will work on this problem as soon as I retire, this has been going on for too damn long. And you wouldn't believe the people that don't believe my story as their stupid response is, "but it's a NEW hospital!" HOW Ignorant. I am with you in your fight against these people. I say don't go there! They actually need to be shut down!
- I wish I had a good answer for you. I understand, to a point, your frustration in dealing with the VA. I have dealt with them for a couple of years for my father and it's like talking to a wall , or at least, ramming your head against one!!. I have never heard "administration policy" so many times, or "it's not my fault, mam, I'm just following policy". The veterans of this country are getting a raw deal with medication and treatment and it seems like people just don't care. I have written to basically anyone I could think of in a higher political office and as of yet, nothing!! I wish you luck in finding a lawyer that will actually do their job and fight the system for a Veteran. Good Luck!
